local rescue groups EXCELLENT LOCAL RESCUE GROUPS:
These rescue groups use foster families which help to acclimate rescue animals to a home environment. They get individual attention and veterinary care. Foster families get to know each animals personalities and habits. Often times they help to train rescue animals too, so your new family member has a smooth transition.

Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets (FOCHP) is a licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our mission is to make homeless and unwanted pets more adoptable and provide them the opportunity to find lifelong families.

New Beginnings for Animals
We’re an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization based in Mission Viejo, California. Our four Board Members and more than 30 Volunteers are dedicated to saving abandoned dogs and cats in overcrowded shelters throughout California. Many of the animals we rescue have a slim chance of getting out alive due to sickness, injury or lack of kennel space.
