Veterinarian
Dr. Margaret Kang grew up in Orange County with a household that included dogs, parakeets, a hamster and fish (her brother was sadly allergic to cats!). She graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and practiced allopathic (Western/modern) medicine in California and Massachusetts for 20 years. Fortunately in 2019, she discovered Ayurveda medicine, and after seeing how it managed her asthma, she realized how potent natural medicine could be and appreciated the holistic approach that Ayurveda takes to address the root cause of disease and imbalances. She then discovered that Veterinary Ayurveda (Pashu Ayurveda) had existed for several thousand years and wanted to incorporate Ayurveda into her practice of medicine. She returned to school to become an Ayurvedic Health Educator at the Southern CA University of Health Sciences in 2021 and graduated from the Ayurvedic Practitioner program at The Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad in 2024.
Her hope is to apply Western diagnostics and treatment as necessary and integrate Ayurvedic modalities to best manage your pet’s health in an individualized, comprehensive manner, all with a focus on restoring balance and respect for all beings’ innate ability to heal.
She is excited to be a part of the integrative veterinary team at Tustin Care Animal Hospital, and if you’re curious about how Ayurveda might contribute to your pet’s well-being, she invites you to join her on the path to wellness.
